Shrimp Boil

This classic Shrimp Boil is a flavorful Southern seafood feast featuring tender shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage boiled in a seasoned broth. Perfect for casual gatherings and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large shrimp, deveined and shells on
  • 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 pound small red potatoes
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, enough to cover ingredients

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and add Old Bay seasoning, garlic, bay leaves, and lemons. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add potatoes to the boiling water and cook for 10-12 minutes until almost tender.
  3. Add sausage and corn to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink and are opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Drain all ingredients and discard lemon halves and bay leaves.
  6. Serve hot on a large platter or spread out on newspaper for a casual meal.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with melted butter mixed with minced garlic and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
