Grilled Pesto Turkey Burgers

These Grilled Pesto Turkey Burgers are a flavorful and healthy twist on the classic burger, featuring juicy turkey patties infused with vibrant basil pesto and grilled to perfection.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup basil pesto
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, basil pesto, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 even patties.
  4. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking, then place the patties on the grill.
  5. Grill the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Toast the whole wheat buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun and topping with lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of grilling, or serve with a side of sweet potato fries.
