  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the chicken thighs.
  4. Place the chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper, skin side up.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and brush BBQ sauce generously over each thigh.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

For extra smoky flavor, brush additional BBQ sauce halfway through the second baking time or serve with grilled vegetables on the side.
