Baked Ground Beef Tostadas (Cabbage Slaw)

Crispy baked tostadas topped with seasoned ground beef and a refreshing cabbage slaw, perfect for a flavorful and easy Mexican-inspired meal.

  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef, stir well, and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. While beef is cooking, prepare cabbage slaw by mixing shredded cabbage, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, sour cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
  5. Place tostada shells on a baking sheet and evenly distribute cooked ground beef on each shell.
  6. Top each tostada with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tostadas are crispy.
  8. Remove from oven and top each tostada with a generous amount of cabbage slaw.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra spice, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce to the slaw before serving.
